The brand surface of the Agentic Web

Proof you can wear.

badge.md turns verified identity claims into badges you can embed anywhere. Every badge resolves to a live cryptographic verification — not a JPEG of trust.

Example badge: /u/chris, founding member, verified

Founding badges ship first to username.md founding members.

Anyone can say anything.

Bios, résumés, endorsements, agent identities — the internet runs on claims nobody can check. Screenshots are trivially faked. Platform checkmarks are rented, not owned. And now AI can generate unlimited plausible identity for free.

Verification is the scarce resource. badge.md makes it visible, portable, and one click away.

A badge that answers back

  1. A claim is issued

Someone in a position to know signs a claim about you — an employer, a community, a peer — through the Agentic Web. Or you self-attest to get started.

  2. Your badge is minted

badge.md renders the claim as a clean SVG at a permanent URL. Embedding it is one line of Markdown, anywhere Markdown works.

  3. Anyone can check it

Every badge links to its verification page — a live cryptographic check against the signer's published keys. Green means verified now, not verified once.

The whole integration is one line of Markdown:

![verified](https://badge.md/b/chris/founding-member.svg)

Works in a GitHub README, a docs site, an email signature, a storefront.

Badges age honestly

Decoration never self-reports. A badge.md badge re-verifies on every check — and shows its true state, including the states other badge systems hide.

Not another badge

vs. image badges
A shields.io badge says whatever you typed. A badge.md badge says what a signer proved.
vs. PDF certificates
Certificates live in a drawer. Badges live where your work does — embeddable, linkable, machine-checkable.
vs. platform checkmarks
A checkmark is rented from a platform and dies with your account. Your badge is yours, portable across every surface.
Built for agents too
Every badge and verification page content-negotiates to JSON, so AI agents can verify who they're dealing with — same trust fabric as finger.md.

Issue badges people actually wear

Communities, companies, and courses: your credential is only as valuable as the places it's displayed. badge.md gives every claim you issue a public, verifiable life — and every embedded badge carries your name as the signer.

Where this stands

badge.md is in early access. The renderer and verifier are being built on the identity kernel that already powers about-me.md and finger.md. Founding badges ship first to username.md founding members.
